Whitehaven Rugby League are today excited to announce the signing of hometown half back Jamie Doran from near neighbours Workington Town.
Doran (27) has signed a 1 year contact at the LEL Arena which will seen him wear the Chocolate, Blue and Gold for the first time after nearly a decade in the professional game.
Having come through the Wigan academy ranks he made his debut for the Warriors in a derby defeat vs St Helens going on to make one further appearance for the Warriors that season.
Since then Jamie has made 186 appearances for Workington Town since 2015 and was instrumental in the side’s 2021 play-off success which seen Workington compete in the Championship in 2022.
But after 8 seasons at Derwent Park he has made the decision to move to his hometown club having being born in the town and played junior rugby at Kells before being signed to Wigan’s academy.
