Hunslet (A) Match Preview

July 26, 20261 min read

Haven are back on the road this afternoon as they make the trip to the South Leeds Stadium to take on Hunslet in round 21 of the Betfred Championship

After two victorious outings at the Ortus Rec against Swinton and Goole, James Newton and his 21 man squad travel to LS11 in search for a big result on the road.

This will be the second time the sides meet this season, after Hunslet took all 2 points when they last faced us back in April at the Ortus Rec

However Haven's two victories in the last 2 weeks will certainly have meant a lot to the lads and help them go into this clash with a lot of confidence.

Earlier this week we announced two loan players joining us for the rest of the 2026 campaign. Castleford's Woody Walker and Wigan's Jaiden Drachenberg who will both be a welcome addition to the team and are have been named in the 21 man squad.

When speaking on this afternoon's fixture, head coach James Newton said

I think it's important we keep doing what we are doing, they'll be a really dangerous team so we'll have to be on top of our game but we will be looking for a reaction on the back of the home game
