Walker returns for rest of season
Whitehaven Rugby League are delighted to the announce the return of Marcus Walker from Hull FC for the rest of the season.
The centre has made 6 appearances on loan from the Super League side making his debut in the Easter West Cumbrian derby victory over Workington and made his last appearance in the Round 15 home defeat to Halifax but will remain now at the LEL Arena for the remainder of the campaign.
Head coach Jonty Gorley spoke saying “Marcus really enjoyed his first spell with us and had been itching to come back for weeks. He was a popular member of the squad when he's with us and was starting to find his feet. He's a strong lad who carries well with pace and evasion. Marcus is a positive addition to the squad.”
The club’s partnership with Hull is one that we are extremely happy with and Director Ashley Kilpatrick was happy to be able to use this again saying “We’re thrilled to have Marcus stay with us for the rest of the season, Marcus really impressed us all with his attitude when he was here previously he really bought into the club and what we are trying to do. Marcus brought great enthusiasm to the team, he’s a good young centre he tightens that edge up and carries well.
We have to thank James Clark & Brett Hodgson at Hull fc for allowing Marcus to see the season out with us, it will help aid Marcus’s development playing championship rugby each week, a big thanks to Hull FC for making this deal happen.”
