Duo signs on loan from Hull FC
Whitehaven RLFC are delighted to announce the loan signing of Full Back or Outside Back Davy Litten & Half back or Hooker Jacob Hookem
Following Geronimo Doyle leaving the field last weekend vs Sheffield a scan has confirmed a broken arm which will see the Kiwi be out of action for a number of weeks.
With this the club have acted fast to bring in a replacement and the highly rated 18 year old Litten will slot into the squad ahead of this weekend’s West Cumbrian derby vs Workington Town.
Speaking about the signing club director Ashley Kilpatrick spoke saying “ We’re delighted to be able to bring Davy in from Hull. We’ve been able to utilise our strong growing relationship with Hull that we have developed over the last 12 months, he’s a very talented outside back who can operate at full back & centre.
He’s came through Hull’s development squad into their academy progressing into their reserve squad and getting himself a squad number and training with their first team. Brett Hodgson rates him highly and needs him out getting game time to help his development.
Lastly I can only pass my thanks onto Brett Hodgson & James Clark who have helped get this done quickly easily and professionally.”
Jacob Hookem is an 19 year old England Academy international as well representing Yorkshire in the academy War of the Roses and made his Super League debut for the Black & Whites vs Wakefield Trinity in September 2021.
Speaking about his signing Ashley Kilpatrick said “I’m absolutely delighted to be able to bring Jacob in. He’s a lad who’s been spoken about to us for a while but he’s had an injury, he can play half back or dummy half, he made his debut for hull against Wakefield last year getting man of the match. He’s very highly rated at Hull, he’s a tough kid, with a good kicking game and he is a good organiser.
Again we have to thank Brett Hodgson & James Clark for letting Jacob come to us, it shows how strong and blossoming our relationship is becoming with hull through the development academy.
