Gary Broadbent



Gary signed for Haven in 2003 after five years at Super League level with Salford, where he represented 'The City Reds in 119 games. A product of the Barrow based Walney team, he signed for the Widnes Academy side as a 16-year-old, before progressing through the ranks to 1st team. During his time at Widnes Gary played for the GB academy side that toured New Zealand in 1996. As the outstanding fullback in NL1 Gary was named in the 2005 NL1 team-of-the-year and was short-listed for the prestigious player-of-the-year award in the same season. As well as representing the Emerging England side in 1998 he captained the revamped Cumbrian County team in 2003,2004 & 2005.
