Position: Stand Off/Scrum Half 1st Team Debut: Barrow home, 2005
Marc is probably one of the most exciting youngsters at the club and has already shown that in the first team games he has played. Marc made his debut coming off the bench for the last 20 minutes against Barrow in Whitehaven’s 2005 league winning season.
Marc didn’t feature in 2006 but made a huge impact in 2007 playing against the demolition of local neighbours Workington at home when he crossed for a try in the 58-12 victors.
The following week Marc played against the former super league club Halifax and showed he could handle playing against experienced half backs when he played the experienced Ian Watson off the park and created a wonderful try for Richard Fletcher with a wonderful flick pass out the back door.
Marc then played in Whitehaven’s first televised game of 2007 against Dewsbury away where he kicked a couple of goals and showed why he is rated so highly at club with some marvellous defensive work. Marc will be looking to put pressure on half backs John Duffy and Liam Finch for a first team place and if he is required to step up he has already proved he can.
Marc was voted the 1st teams young player of the year and the academy supporters player of the year at the clubs presentation awards last season.
